Reflection of the Day: Why Do People Lie?
I remembered I used to lie when I was a kid to avoid naggings from my dad and scoldings as well.
But as I grew older, I didn't find any point of lying for there wasn't any situation I am placed in to lie.
Except for work. Working in Linsan with Colin somehow made me compromised my integrity a little. Ultimately I left.
Manna was different for it's a restaurant. Customer is most of the time right but definitely not always. Always is only applicable to people who are reasonable. However, Singaporeans are generally NOT reasonable.
The smiles to carry even when they are trying to act cocky or find trouble on purpose. The pushing of certain A La Carte during promotional months. Even though it may not taste as nice or up to standard, we normally say not bad, but it depends on individual taste buds. In this way, the customer makes his own choices than being led to decide base on our opinions. Hee, safe card. This sentence always works and hardly any personal complains received.
I guess lying is a habit and like nicotine. Once hooked, you'll keep doing it. Lying brings in more lies to cover up but eventually, the truth speaks for itself. And when truth is revealed, it will only bring more hurt than ever as compared to speaking the truth straight away.
I hope he learnt his lesson after being given a few tight slaps by Ann. *Admire U Girl, I can never bring myself to do it even if I wanted to do so badly*
