  Back with a Vengence

And I think I have "forsaken" my blog for more than 6 months and my readers perhaps stop clicking to view...

Well, here's the big DRAMA MAMA

Friday 06 June 2009 0910hrs

Here I am trying to rush to be punctual for lessons, Fabian's mum striked up a conversation with me:

mum: ah Le'Rain ah, both of you havent source or apply for a flat yet ah?
me: no why?
mum: I think both of you should get a flat
me: but it's not economical and Fabian doesn't have enough cash on hand plus may not get enough loan.
mum: but I still think both of you should get a flat. Fabian is VERY DIFFERENT from his two elder brothers. (*thinking to myself, of course different la, if same I don't want him already)
me: ya, BUT Fabian DOESN'T have enough $
mum: how can that be? both of you combine sure can get a loan. Nowadays need both person to contribute then can work out.
me: Fabian's job not secure, not earning enough. I'm self-employed (talking to myself: no cpf = no track records to prove stable income for bank to verify to get loan stupid woman, how to make you understand? it's a complete waste of my time talking and I'm late. In addition, we can only get resale and no brand new flat if we combine). I'm also not intending to stay in Singapore.
mum: huh, where do you intend to go?
me: I'm going US to study for masters so I rather buy a property there, anyway, Fabian found out that with $100,000 can get a nice big landed around the outskirts of the city
mum: which part of US? Boston ah?
me: no, NY.
mum: wah, NY expensive. Then Fabian how?
me: Fabian go together
mum: but I'm very sure Fabian doesn't want to go overseas.
me: well, if he doesn't then no choice, I'll still go to study.
mum: (silent for like 30 seconds) Both of you should get a property. It is the ONLY way to beat inflation. Then if both of you come back at least have a place to stay.
me: We'll see how.
mum: Like that Fabian is wasting his time. You know all men need to be pushed by women if not they're easily complacent and not do anything.
me: Fabian doesn't know what he wants to do. Engineering or music. He's still finding what he wants to do.
mum: but Fabian is always like that, he's so quiet. I took so good care of him when he was young compared to his two brothers *shakes her head and sigh* Now you may think Singapore not good, next time you will DEFINITELY want to come back.
me: I don't think Jean will want to come back if she decides to do music.
mum: She WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK! Singapore music scene is bound to FLOURISH in years to come.
me: Singapore's focus is never on arts, it wouldn't grow. Aunty I need to go... very late.

So this was the beginning of SOMETHING bigger to unfold... ... read on... ...
