  The toughness of DipABRSM teaching

Walking into the exam room at 1005, I could hear my heart pounding as though I'll suffer a heart attack any moment.

Quick Study wasn't really a breeze but seriously, I can't believe a 5 min new piece performance is much better than months of preparation of exam pieces. Totally screwed the pieces up. Sighz...

So many questions! Which I was totally thrown off because I didn't expect a 1st year undergrad equivalent will be so tough since it's more like a foundation.

Topics covered:
1) What are the materials you'll recommend for a very young beginner/beginner bout' 9 years old and adult beginners?
2) What are the benefits of individual and group classes?
3) Do you have any methods to teach hearing interrupted cadences and plagal cadences and perfect cadences?
4) How do you cover the rhythm difference section of the ABRSM aural syllabus?
5) What are the difficulties you have when teaaching adult students?
6) What are the different kinds of pedal? How do you go about teaching them to young children?
7) What kind of staccato do you usually advocate first?
8) Do you agree with the methods of using black keys than starting with middle C?
9) How would you teach a student to be able to balance the tone of the left hand?
10) How do you maintain the interest in an adult?
11) What is your opinion on imitation of the harpsichord for baroque music?
12) How do you teach rubato?

Fucking many topics that ideas have to keep flowing like a tap and I have to talk like a machine gun, cannot really have time to put on thinking cap and THINK before I speak!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm aiming high but I think the pieces are fucking screwed up. It seriously didn't happen when I was practicing. ("^") sobs

I guess I'll pass and then LRSM... distinction is a must for a 1st class honours equivalent standard!
