Battle and let's prepare to lose again
So, it has been almost half a year since I blogged...
I don't expect much readership anyway...
Ok, so this was today's experience:
Much better than compared to ast time 60-70 yr old man who didn't know what to do with me.
This examiner was definitely a very experienced one who knows how to guide out answers from me. I really appreciate the experience today.
So I was asked on these topics:
1) posture (finger, body, pedal)
2) method books (what I like and dislike about them)
3) Pieces recommended for Grade 4 who wants to stop.
4) Pieces recommended for Grade 5 who is not prepared to go to grade 6.
5) Legato pedal
6) Exam piece analysis and error correction
7) poor arppegio playing
8) other authors for sight-reading book
9) recommendation for materials to cover 3 contrasting pieces for recital
So far this is it.
Wonder which person will google "DipABRSM Teaching" and like stumble upon my blog. Oh well, any enquiries will be welcomed into my email.
I was given a much tougher sight-reading for my second attempt. Thanks to the previous stingy old woman who gave me just pass of 6 marks for 1 chord mistake while the rest of the piece was given good comments.
Invention in A major with only 3 cadences stop to take a short breath. Many stumbles and slips.
Everyone who knows is praying for a miracle from God to let me pass this 2nd attempt.
I tried my best, I know I don't suck as teaching because I did produced a g8 distinction which implied my analysis and interpretation of songs are correct. So students who can't make it can't blame me for teaching them to play wrongly!
Let's face the results of the battle and prepare for a lost and recollect the troops to invade the 3rd time.
